Bringing the the new Seattle Ridge lift to life. Putting chairs on the lift is one of the final steps in the long chain of events to bring the this chair lift to life. The splicing of a haul rope is a critical step in installing a new ski lift as it ensures the rope's strength and integrity, preventing potential breaks or failures that could jeopardize safety and operations. The team at Sun Valley Resort and Doppelmayr USA have been working hard for this moment marking one of the final steps in putting in the new Seattle Ridge lift.
The construction of the top terminal has just been completed, and Doppelmayr USA lift electricians are now on-site to begin their work. Meanwhile, the bottom terminal is currently under construction.
Exciting changes are underway with the Seattle Ridge Enhancement Project as crews overhaul the old power lines to support a cutting-edge upgrade. The new Doppelmayr 6-pack direct drive lift will soon replace the outdated system, promising a smoother and faster ride to the top.
The Seattle Ridge Project hit an exciting milestone, as helicopters returned to install the new lift tower line. Crews in the air and on the ground worked diligently placing towers, making significant progress in the construction of this new six-pack chair. Crews are now preparing for the next stages of the project, including pouring the concrete foundations for the top & bottom terminals in the coming weeks.
The Seattle Ridge Enhancement Project took to the skies yesterday! Helicopters returned to the valley to deliver concrete to each tower location along the new lift line. As we enter mid-May and we will continue dismantling the old Seattle Ridge Chairlift, removing the top and bottom terminals along with all towers, chairs and cables.
Sun Valley Resort continues on its multi-year improvement plan, announcing the second phase of construction with the replacement of the Seattle Ridge Chairlift. Pending National Forest Service approval, construction is scheduled to begin in April 2024, with the new lift opening in December 2024.
