Coming winter 2026-2027, the Lookout Express and Christmas Lift replacements will increase reliability and uphill capacity while continuing the modernization of Sun Valley's lift infrastructure.

Helicopters flew in thousands of pounds of concrete to complete the lift tower foundations for the Lookout Express and Christmas lift lines. Next up, crews will backfill the towers; then later this summer, helicopters will return to fly in the new lift towers.
Foundations for the new lift towers are complete. Concrete bases have been poured and are curing on Baldy. Crews will begin setting steel next, continuing progress toward the 2026-2027 season.
Construction continues on our new Doppelmayr lifts. Excavation for lift lines and stations is complete, and helicopter operations are underway to fly lift towers in and out.
All terminals of Lookout Express and Christmas lift have been removed. As we enter June, we will be prepping terminal foundations and working to remove lift towers.
